WIAA State Hockey Quarterfinals
Game 1: Waukesha Wings 2, Arrowhead 1 (Overtime) (Stats) - The Classic Eight rivals started the quarterfinals with a bang, when Benjamin Sorge put away the overtime game-winner for Waukesha.
Game 2: Sun Prairie 3, Bay Port 2 (Stats) - Neither team was the higher seed in their sectional, but the Cardinals, after losing a 2-0 lead, got a goal from Josh McCrary with 13.8 seconds left to send Sun Prairie to the state semifinals.
Semifinal Game 1: Waukesha vs Sun Prairie - 5 p.m. Friday
Game 3: Hudson 4, Eau Claire Memorial 0 (Stats) - Hudson knocked in two early goals and dominated the first period with 16 shots on goal to just 3 for the Old Abes. The Raiders chipped in a bouncing puck with 38 seconds left in the second period to essentially clinch the game at 3-0, and added another tally in the final frame to move on to the semifinals.
Game 4: Wausau West 7, West Salem/Bangor 0 (Stats) - Wausau West peppered West Salem/Bangor with 37 shots on goal, scoring four times in the final period, en route to a semifinal match-up with top-ranked Hudson.
