Games For Saturday, January 21
Men's Basketball at Oshkosh (7pm): #5 River Falls (15-1, 5-0) has won 13 games in a row, and will face Oshkosh (10-6, 3-2), currently tied for second place with two other teams. Oshkosh is 3-0 on the road but 0-2 at home in conference games.
Women's Basketball at River Falls (3pm): #10 Oshkosh (14-2, 4-1) has had two seven-game win streaks this season snapped by one-loss Top 25 teams, #15 DePauw (Ind.) and #20 Whitewater. They'll look to start another one against River Falls (5-11, 0-5), as the Falcons are streaking in the opposite direction (eight straight losses).
Men's Basketball at Stout (3pm): #25 Whitewater (13-3, 2-3) got back on track with a win over Oshkosh on Wednesday, but the Warhawks are tied for fifth place in the conference. Stout (12-4, 3-2) lost an emotional rivalry game with Eau Claire on Wednesday, but can bounce back with a win Saturday.
Women's Basketball at Whitewater (3pm): #20 Whitewater (15-1, 5-0) took early control of the WIAC with a big win over #10 Oshkosh on Wednesday, but can't overlook a pesky Stout (5-11, 1-4) team that can score in bursts.
You can hear the women's basketball game on iHeartRadio from WMEQ in Menomonie/Eau Claire:
Men's Basketball at Stevens Point (7pm): #12 Eau Claire (13-3, 3-2) has had a bit of an up-and-down ride in the WIAC so far, but took down a good Stout team, which was receiving votes in last week's D3Hoops.com poll, this week to stay tied for second in the conference. Stevens Point (8-7, 2-3) is playing through well-documented adversity, but that hasn't stopped the Pointers from being competitive in their games in the league so far.
Women's Basketball at Eau Claire (5pm): Eau Claire (8-8, 2-3) held serve in its rivalry clash with Stout on Wednesday, helping them stay a game up in the standings for a WIAC Tournament berth. Stevens Point (11-5, 3-2) dropped a contest, somewhat surprisingly, to a young Platteville team this week, which opened up the race for a home WIAC Tournament game.
Men's Basketball at Platteville (7pm): Platteville (8-8, 1-4) picked up its first conference win of the season on Wednesday, which moved the WIAC back to the status of not having a team with a losing record on the men's side. La Crosse (9-7, 1-4) has now dropped four straight after upsetting #25 Whitewater on the road to start conference play.
Women's Basketball at La Crosse (3pm): La Crosse (9-7, 3-2) has quietly racked up three straight wins, putting the Eagles in the top half of the conference at this juncture. They'll take on a young, improving Platteville squad (6-10, 2-3) that just picked up a huge road win at Stevens Point.
