One of the craziest plays in baseball happened yesterday in the Cubs-Pirates game in Pittsburgh. In case you didn’t see the play the Cubs Javy Baez hit a grounder to third with Willson Conteras on second and two outs. The throw to Pirates first baseman Will Craig pulled him off the bag and Baez stopped and then ran back towards home and got in a rundown. Contreras never stopped and Craig meekly flipped the ball to home to try to tag out Contreras at home to no avail. Contreras was safe and then Baez took off for first and was safe as well.
