A 50 game MLB season would be an amazing thrill ride for baseball fans

Before the pandemic a lot of sports fan would say that the MLB season is too long. 162 games in a regular season makes it fun for a summer of drinking, grilling, and enjoying a sporting event, but it does not make you feel like one loss is going to make or break the season. When fans watch football games, every play is intense because there are only 16 chances to get your team to the playoffs. In today's society Major League Baseball would never even fathom having a shorter season to increase the importance of each game, unless of course there was a global pandemic that shut all sports down for three plus months. Imagine watching game 25 of the season knowing you're halfway through the season and the pressure is immediately on. From a financial stand point it doesn't make sense because of lost revenue but that is even more of an incentive for MLB to do the shortened season this year when the other option might not be any baseball in 2020.
