Packers re-sign Will Redmond

The Green Bay Packers and S Will Redmond have agreed to terms on a contract. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Thursday.

Redmond, a 5-foot-11, 186-pound fifth-year player, has played in 18 regular-season games with four starts over the last two seasons for the Packers and appeared in both 2019 playoff contests. Last season, he tied for the team lead with a career-high nine tackles on special teams. Redmond was originally selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round (No. 68 overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Mississippi State. He spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve with a knee injury and the first eight games of 2017 with an ankle injury. Redmond was released by the 49ers on Oct. 31, 2017, and signed by the Kansas City Chiefs to the practice squad on Nov. 9, 2017, where he spent the rest of the season. Redmond was released by the Chiefs on Sept. 1, 2018.
