HSFB: WSN Coaches Poll: Milwaukee area dominates top spots

Although roughly a quarter of the state's teams are competing in the spring, that leaves hundreds of schools still playing this fall in high school football.

In the first public iteration of the WSN Coaches Poll for the fall of 2020, Milwaukee-area teams hold the top spot in the five largest divisions.

The Division 1 coaches poll has two-time defending champion Muskego in the top slot. The Warriors dispatched Arrowhead 32-24 on Friday, with the Warhawks checking in at #9 in this week's poll. Following Muskego at #1, the poll lists Franklin, Muskego, and Oak Creek, with Marquette (#6), Oconomowoc (#9), and Kenosha Bradford (#10) to round out the rankings.

Division 2 has four Milwaukee-area schools out in front: Menomonee Falls, Brookfield East, Waukesha West, and Homestead. Four more teams are ranked #6-#9: Brookfield Central, Hartford, Cedarburg, and Waterford. Brookfield Central, at #6, is featured on 97.3 this week in a match-up with Catholic Memorial, ranked #1 in Division 4.

In the Division 3 poll, the top spot is held by Whitefish Bay. Other ranked area teams in D3 include Grafton (#3), Pewaukee (#5), and New Berlin West (#7).

Catholic Memorial (Division 4) and Lake Country Lutheran (Division 5) are top-ranked in their respective segments as well.
