HSFB: New Berlin West wins thriller over New Berlin Eisenhower 17-16

The New Berlin West Vikings snapped New Berlin Eisenhower's 21-straight Woodland Conference win streak and handed The Lions their first regular season loss in almost three years with a 17-16 overtime victory on Friday night.

West running back Adam Siegel scored from three yards out with 10:39 left in the second quarter to take the 7-0 lead.Then in the final seconds of the first half, Stjepan Peharda knocked in a 33-yard field goal to make it 7-3.

After a scoreless third quarter, Aaron Sobush extended West’s lead with a 22 yard field goal.Then Eisenhower went on a drive that took over 10 minutes and tied it up on a 4th and goal from the nine yard line as Quarterback Gabe Seifert completed the touchdown pass to Nick Ciardo with 55 seconds remaining.

In Overtime, West scored a touchdown with a three yard run from Adam Siegel, and the extra point by Aaron Sobush gave West the 7-point lead.Eisenhower answered by scoring a touchdown on a 6 yard run from Jack Osielski.Rather than attempt the extra point to force double overtime, Eisenhower went for the 2 point conversion to win it, but Seifer’s pass to Ciardo was caught out of bounds giving West the victory.
