WSN FB Coaches Poll Week 2: Milwaukee-area teams ranked #1 in D1-D5

Football fans in southeastern Wisconsin are being treated to a good portion of the best of what the state has to offer this fall, with about two-thirds of the schools in Wisconsin competing in football during the fall season.

For the second straight week, Milwaukee-area teams Muskego, Menomonee Falls, Whitefish Bay, Catholic Memorial, and Lake Country Lutheran are the top-ranked teams statewide in their respective divisions of the Week 2 WisSports.net Coaches Poll.

Muskego, who picked up a 32-24 win over #7 Arrowhead in Week 1, holds down the top spot in Division 1 after picking up their 30th win in a row last Friday. Franklin checks in at number two, following an impressive second half in a win over Indian Trail. Mukwonago won again to move to 2-0, and will meet top-ranked Muskego later in the season in Classic 8 play, but first has to get past Arrowhead this Friday. Marquette dominated Wisconsin Lutheran in its season opener and checks in at #4 in D1. Oak Creek, which will play Southeast Conference rival and second-ranked Franklin in 97.3 The Game's IRONJOC Game of the Week on October 23, is #5 in this week's poll. Kenosha Bradford is #10 in this week's rankings.

The top eight spots all belong to southeastern Wisconsin schools in Division 2. Menomonee Falls is again number one, followed by defending champion Brookfield East at #2. Brookfield East will play cross-town rival #4 Brookfield Central in this week's 97.3 IRONJOC Game of the Week on Friday. Hartford stays unbeaten and sits at #3, ahead of Brookfield Central and #5 Waterford. #6 Waukesha West, #7 Homestead, and #8 Wauwatosa West round out the area's ranked teams.

Whitefish Bay continues to hold down the top spot in Division 3, with Grafton checking in at #2. Pewaukee is ranked #9 this week, with Wilmot, yet to play, at #10. Catholic Memorial holds down the top spot in Division 4 after a 17-10 win over D2 #4 Brookfield Central, while Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian sits at #6. Division 5's top team is Lake Country Lutheran, the defending champ, while in Division 6, Racine Lutheran is ranked #9.
