In an interview with ESPN's Chris Low, Nick Saban talked about his future. He made it clear that he doesn’t plan to retire anytime soon, but outlines a situation in which he would start to consider it.
Former Gator Head Football Coach Steve Spurrier offered up his two cents on a scenario in which he saw Saban walking away.
“Nick ain’t thinking about retiring, not even close,” Spurrier said. “He can go into his 70s easy, and I think he will.
“I told him he won’t retire until he loses three games in a season. He told me, ‘If I ever lose three games around here again, they might kill me.’ I think he was joking, but I’m not sure.”
Saban took over Alabama in 2007, which had been going through a very cold patch, and has captured five national titles since 2009.
