A talk show producer/sidekick's job is never done. Bumper music for 2021?

With the end of 2020 just days away, here's a list of songs to help us say goodbye to the year no one wants to remember. Being Jay Weber's sidekick and producer, it's my job to find all the bumper music for the show. I'm not really up on currents. Please add in the comments

The Who- "1921" -- The opening lyric to this song off of 1969's Tommy says what we're all feeling or at least hoping for: "Got a feeling '21 is gonna be a good year / Especially if you and me see it in together."

The Beatles- "Getting Better" -- "I've got to admit it's getting better / A little better all the time (It can't get more worse)"

The Beatles- "Here Comes the Sun" -- "Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter / Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here"

George Harrison- "Ding Dong, Ding Dong" -- "Ring out the old / Ring in the new / Ring out the false / Ring in the true"

John Lennon- "Imagine" -- "You may say I'm a dreamer / But I'm not the only one"

Journey- "Don't Stop Believin'" -- “Don’t stop believin’ / Hold on to the feelin'”

Bob Marley- "Get Up Stand Up" -- “Get up, stand up / don’t give up the fight!”

Queen- "We Are the Champions" -- "I’ve had my share of sand kicked in my face / But I’ve come through”

U2- "Beautiful Day" -- “It’s a beautiful day / Don’t let it get away”

Monty Python- "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" -- "If life seems jolly rotten / There's something you've forgotten / And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing / When you're feeling in the dumps / Don't be silly chumps / Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing / And always look on the bright side of life"

And more:

  • Elton John- "I'm Still Standing"
  • The Kinks- "Set Me Free"
  • Bruce Springsteen- "Better Days"
  • Bad Company- "Movin' On"
  • Rolling Stones- "Get Off of My Cloud"
