Clay Travis is reacting to a story that many people may not even be aware of, but it's a story of great importance and disappointment. The Ivy League has announced that it will continue to not play sports for the remainder of this year. They did not participate in athletics at all beginning with the cancellation of spring sports last year, all the way through the fall calendar, and now, the rest of this year too.
They will end up going almost a year and a half with no sports at all. Clay is thankful that other leagues did not follow the lead of the Ivy league, otherwise we would be sitting here without sports, but more importantly, there would be athletes all over the country that would not be able to participate in what they love to do for over a year. This would be detrimental.
It's a shame that the best and brightest of our country have folded so easily when it comes to finding a way to play sports during the pandemic.
