David Samson Doubles Down: MLB Will Try To Ensure Dodgers Win NLCS

David Samson joined The Drew Olson Show in Milwaukee to discuss his controversial comment about the MLB, saying earlier in the week that the league would try to make sure the Los Angeles Dodgers would win the NLCS over the Milwaukee Brewers. The thought process being that baseball's executives wouldn't want the small-market Brewers in the World Series over the large-market Dodgers.

Samson didn't follow up on that statement in his radio interview on ESPN Radio earlier this week, but on Friday's Drew Olson Show, the former Miami Marlins president and Milwaukee native doubled down on the thought. He cited an example in the Yankees-Red Sox series, where MLB put embattled umpire Angel Hernandez behind the plate, who made questionable calls on balls and strikes, and predicts that MLB will do the same thing should the Brewers-Dodgers series go in a direction that baseball executives don't like.

Speaking on his own experience as the president of the Miami Marlins, he felt the heat when the Marlins won the World Series, knowing that executives wanted the Cubs to win the championship. Samson says it is true that MLB wants large-market teams to succeed and make the World Series, and that it's not a controversial thought.

Samson is predicting Milwaukee to take on the Houston Astros in the World Series. Milwaukee plays Los Angeles in the best-of-seven series beginning Friday night in Milwaukee.
