Packers opt for offense on day two of the NFL Draft

The Green Bay Packers opted for offense in the second and third rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft on Friday evening, one night after selecting Georgia cornerback Eric Stokes with their first round pick on Thursday.

With their second round selection (N. 62 overall), Green Bay perhaps chose their next center following the departure of Corey Linsley to the Los Angeles Chargers via free agency. Like Linsley, draft pick Josh Myers is an Ohio State product with a lot of upside.

Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst trade up from No. 92 to No. 85 with Tennessee, who also got one of Green Bay’s two fourth rounders in the process. With that selection, Green Bay took Clemson wide receiver Amari Rodgers, who is expected to compete for playing time in the slot as well as return punts.

Barring any further trade, on Saturday, the Packers have six selections to make. In the fourth round, overall pick No. 142; two choices in the fifth round; overall selection Nos. 173 and 178, in the sixth round, Nos. 214 and 220, and finally in the seventh round, No. 256.
