Despite Ejections, Brewers Beat Angels 7-5

Despite their manager and clubhouse leader being ejected in the sixth inning, the Milwaukee Brewers earned their third straight win with a 7-5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

The Brewers scored three runs in the third inning to jump out to a 3-0 lead. The Angels scored a run in the top of the fifth inning to cut the lead to 3-1.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Brewers blew the game open. They sent the entire lineup to the plate, loaded the bases multiple times, and scored four runs. William Contreras and Victor Caratini each brought in a run by walking with the bases loaded. Jesse Winker hit a single to left field with the bases loaded that plated two runs. The Brewers led 7-1 after five innings.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, ejections were aplenty. Manager Craig Counsell was ejected after a pitch clock dispute. Then, Willy Adames was ejected after striking out.

Mike Trout hit a two-run home run for the Angels in the eighth inning and the ninth inning to cut the Brewers lead to 7-5, but that would be the end of the scoring for the Angels. Devin Williams entered the game for the one out save in the ninth inning. The Brewers won 7-5.

Corbin Burnes had a solid night on the mound for Milwaukee. He tossed six innings, allowed just one run on five hits, walked one batter, and struck out five Angels.

The Brewers will go for the sweep of the Angels on Sunday afternoon at 1:10pm at American Family Field.
