Brewers fall in second game of doubleheader to Cardinals 3-2 Monday night

Brewers batters went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position, and Milwaukee fell to fourth place in the NL Central after losing 3-2 to the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday night in the second game of a doubleheader, which went to extra innings.

Jed Gyorko provided the only offense for Milwaukee, hitting a two-run home run in the fourth inning.

Brewers batters managed just eight hits across 17 innings of play on Monday, scoring four runs. Milwaukee won the first game 2-1, also in extra innings.

Milwaukee would have moved into playoff position with a win Monday night, but instead tumble down to fourth place in the division with 14 games to play.
