An NFL executive predicted Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will "be even better next year" during ESPN senior NFL national reporter Jeremy Fowler's predicted award winners for the 2024 season.

Mahomes, 28, widely regarded as the NFL's best quarterback, is coming off his second consecutive Super Bowl victory and third in the last five years.

"He'll be even better next year," an anonymous NFC executive said via ESPN. "I think they have the speed to help Mahomes get his deep ball back. He and Kelce seem very motivated by a three-peat and the pressure that comes with it."

Mahomes is one of three active quarterbacks with multiple regular-season MVPs, along with reigning MVP Lamar Jackson (2) of the Baltimore Ravens and Aaron Rodgers (4) of the New York Jets. The Chiefs will return All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce and are expected to have "the deepest receiver room in years" following the selection of former University of Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy at No. 28 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Fowler predicted Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who finished second in MVP voting last season, would be "a good sleeper" award, citing the same NFC executive who predicted Prescott was "going to have his 'f*** you' season, shut everybody up and win an MVP." Other quarterbacks who received votes included Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals, Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers and Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins.
