The Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers completed a monster trade exchanging superstars James Harden and Ben Simmons (among others). Each team got rid of an unhappy player so it should be a win/win however; Doug thinks the Nets got the best part of this deal. With a squad including Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and now Seth Curry, Simmons lack of shooting skill won’t be an issue and his ball-handling skills should be a huge asset. Like Simmons or don’t, he may have finally found a landing spot that will appreciate his skill set.
Doug Gottlieb: “Ben Simmons gives you everything and then the only question is: can he overcome the shooting yips... I don’t love Ben Simmons the dude, or how he’s handled it, or the fact that he doesn’t shoot, but I like the trade for the Brooklyn Nets a great deal.”
