FSU Chooses Mike Martin Jr. To Take Over Baseball Program

Florida State has selected Mike Martin Jr. to be the next head coach of the baseball program, Tallahassee Democrat's Jim Henry reports.

Mike Martin, Jr., a former FSU player and the Seminoles' 22-year assistant coach under his father, Mike Martin, will be named the program's new coach, according to sources. The announcement could come Friday as his contract is being finalized. - Jim Henry, Tallahassee Democrat

Martin Jr. succeeds his father, legendary FSU coach Mike Martin, who retired after 40 seasons with the Noles following Wednesday nights loss to Texas Tech in the CWS. Martin was the winningest coach in NCAA history with 2,029 wins.
