Former Whitnall Falcon and Kentucky Wildcat Tyler Herro was selected #13 overall by the Miami Heat in the NBA Draft on Thursday night.
Herro is the highest NBA Draft pick who played high school basketball in Wisconsin since Devin Harris (Wauwatosa East) went #5 overall 15 years ago.
The one-time Wisconsin commit was projected to be fringe lottery, and was eventually selected in the penultimate spot of the lottery of the NBA Draft.
Herro told reporters during pre-draft workouts that he can obviously shoot, but he hopes they notice the other things he's worked on, including his defense and durability (Herro led Kentucky in minutes played in his lone season in college).
