Gators Defensive back Chris Steele has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal.
Steele was the top recruit in a Gators class that ranked No. 9 nationally.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Steele took his high school, St. John Bosco, to California’s state title game last season and was expected to be a key, early contributor for the Gators.
Steele was also mentioned as a witness in the sexual battery allegations against teammate Jalon Jones. Both women declined to pursue charges against Jones, who has also entered the transfer portal. Steele was not accused of wrongdoing in the police reports.
