What You Missed On the Season Premiere of "SNL"

"Saturday Night Live" opened this week with a parody of Thursday's BRETT KAVANAUGH hearing . . . and they brought in MATT DAMON to play him.  He did a pretty good job of mugging, yelling, and bro-ing out.

Former "SNL" cast member RACHEL DRATCH also popped up to play Democratic Senator AMY KLOBUCHAR . . . and KATE MCKINNON was Republican Senator LINDSEY GRAHAM.

There was also a cameo from a cardboard cutout of ALYSSA MILANO.  She noticed.  The REAL Alyssa was at the actual Kavanaugh hearing.

The other headline-grabbing moment of the night actually happened after the show went off the air.  KANYE WEST went on one of his typical rants, while wearing his "Make America Great Again" hat.

He complained about how so much of the media is liberal, and that's why everything seems so "one-sided."  He talked about a "Democratic plan" to take fathers out of the home and promote welfare.

He said people BULLIED him backstage to not wear the hat.  He talked about whether or not PRESIDENT TRUMP is racist, saying, quote, "If I was concerned about racism, I would have moved out of America a long time ago."

And he gave us this nugget of wisdom:  "Follow your heart, and stop following your mind.  That's how we're controlled.  That's how we're programmed."  (???)

Kanye didn't get much of a response.  Only a couple people clapped for some of his points, several people booed, and there was a lot of awkward silence.

Earlier in the show, Kanye performed "I Love It" dressed as a Perrier bottle.

Also, Pete Davidson appeard on the Weekend Update to talk about his relationship with Ariana Grande.
