Jags Austin Seferian-Jenkins says he can be the best blocking TE in league

This off-season the Jaguars signed former Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins to a two year contract, and he thinks he can contribute more to the team than just catching passes. Austin is no stranger to the Jags run-heavy offense, “we’ll find out if I can run block or not” he told reporters after mini-camp.

“There’s no doub in my mind I can be the best run-blocking, pass-catching tight end in the league,” Seferian-Jenkins said, via First Coast News. “I’m not worried about it. I’ve got a good opportunity to come in here and do what I can to help this team win as many games as possible and everyone else will decide how the blocking is, but I’m going to block as hard as I can for my teammates.” The Jaguars released veteran TE Marcedes Lewis this off-season, so Seferian-Jenkins will get a chance to display his skills in all areas of the game early and often.
