Bud Light Lime debuted 10 years ago, and it was a big hit . . . until it wasn't. A report earlier this year found its sales had dropped 35.5% over the past five years, which was the biggest drop of any American beer.
So Bud Light's strategy apparently is . . . DOUBLE DOWN.
Because Bud Light Lime just got itself a cousin called BUD LIGHT ORANGE . . . and it's showing up in stores around the country.
The big question, of course, is how does it taste? Here are some quotes from people on BeerAdvocate.com . . .
"It's honestly not terrible" . . . "More like a soda pop than a beer" . . . "It smells and tastes exactly like someone mixed Bud Light and orange Fanta" . . . "Taste is artificial orange, corn, and citrus, but might not be too bad on a hot summer afternoon."
