Florida Gators QB Feleipe Franks was selected with the 941st overall pick in the 31st round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox. Per Alex Speier of the Boston Globe, Franks has now officially signed with the Red Sox and has received a $40,000 Bonus for signing.
The $40K is not enough to tamper with Franks ability to play QB for the Gators this fall, and he fully plans on finishing out his college football career.
Franks has not played organized baseball since his junior year of high school, but according to reports from Speier, he has hit 94 MPH on the radar after taking the mound for the first time in 5 years.
